Sometime ago, I discovered through a mutual friend, Helen's amazing gift for helping people with addictions. I have been married for 23 years to an alcoholic and no matter how much I threatened or pleaded, he refused to stop drinking and all attempts to moderate failed miserably. I turned to Helen out of complete desperation and without really understanding how her healing gifts worked—it was truly a leap of faith. I had given up any hope of my husband becoming sober. No one could see how his drinking was dangerously progressing and so it was impossible for me to seek support from friends and family. I was in despair. I cautiously called Helen and she helped guide me through her healing process and immediately dedicated herself to healing my family. I noticed slight changes and definite changes in myself and with my family. And within one week, my husband's drinking changed. His drinking actually increased and within one month he received a DUI—as crazy as this sounds, this is what I was praying for: a miraculous outside event that would shift his path towards recovery. Helen's methods to keep my husband clear became more intense and more effective as he was slowly hitting "rock bottom." No one can determine when and how someone will choose to be sober but clearing him helped remove so many obstacles out of his path towards sobriety—it was like a divine push in rehab's direction. Helen removed the "ethereal clutter," so to speak, that kept my husband stuck in his addiction. She never judged him and her compassion for my family and me was never ending. Helen went beyond what was asked of her to help this lovely husband and dear father achieve sobriety. She dedicated so much extra time and energy to his healing. She refused to give up on him or me. Within a couple of months, family and friends started to notice that he had a serious problem. He could no longer keep his drinking a secret. For me, the clearing helped me understand that it was unacceptable to live this co-dependant life anymore. (I realized that I had been unaware of how I had enabled my husband’s behavior and worked so hard to protect his disease, and in doing so, gave up my own boundaries and self-authority.) I chose to stand in my truth and, for the first time in my life, I created healthy boundaries for myself and my children. Helen worked in the background to support each of my three children, keeping them clear and balanced through all these changes. And during this painful and isolated process of watching their father hit rock bottom, amazingly, my children remained grounded and stable. And to everyone's surprise, my husband eventually entered rehab and admitted he was an alcoholic within the first week of treatment. He is home now and, not only will this be a life time of recovery, but a life time of clearing. It is a miracle thanks to Helen and her work with the Divine that my family is becoming whole again. Thanks for working on Leo this morning. Last night he told me that he wanted to be more forthcoming about things and that he had taken a large dose of over the counter cough medicine late in the afternoon (which I had intuited). I asked him if entities were around and influencing him to do this. His response was "yes." It was at that point that I called you and left the message. By early this morning my sense was that the entities were "caged out" and not able to reach him as easily. I made him breakfast this morning (as I have been doing since he was very young) and he clearly wanted to talk about things. With tears streaming down his face he talked about the challenges of returning to normal functioning and asked me if I would help him with things like developing more self discipline. My challenge is not to give him advice, but ask him questions that get him to think about possible actions. Since he returned from UH Hospital a month ago I have been careful to interact with him not as a child/teenager, but as a young adult, thus, not giving him advice, but asking him if he has thought about this possibility or that. A week ago he realized that the meds had done what they could do and the side effects were causing him significant problems producing very high pitta, so he stopped taking them. He didn't tell us until a few days later, but we had noticed that he appeared much calmer. In addition, his maturity level seemed to have gone up a notch.
